    Traditional winter tweeds and country checks! The inspiration is there, but re-interpreted and stylized into carpet like textures and flattened carpet of upholstery like motives. Urban tweeds with graphic and geometric grid patterning. Hounds tooth, herringbone, photo graphics and marbled camouflage.

    Re-interpretation and creating the new, but vintage looks will continue to have a draw especially with the big feel for 1920s look. Highly ornamental patterning with an exotic/folkloric feel, multi-coloured textures, embossed effects, sequins, gold more to do with a “couture” look in shimmering taffetas – all richly coloured. Thick, heavy fabrics that envelop the body. Felted, brushed, raised, hairy, feathery looking, loops and ruffles. The look is haphazard, primitive but warm, Also braided looks and thrown yarns.

    Couture detailed indigos in all versions, weights and washes – there’s no end to the influence of indigo blue as the denim effect continues to encroach new areas of the textile market never before associated with this look and feel. Here are the indigo effect – embellished, printed and woven from basic forms of Dots to very summer indigo dyed florals, giving a very relaxed and fun feel for the spring.

    Romantic, nostalgic, retro and full of the season’s favourite lace, broderie and embroidery approaches, the inspiration of this story reaches back to grandma’s wedding. White and ecru for the purity. Not so much a story of rock n’ roll and full skirted prom dresses, rather a look at the elegant side of the late 1950s and early 1960s. A feeling redolent of period Chanel and, of course, hyper feminine pinks and period prints.

    The highly ornamental and embellished in beautifully executed tone on tone jacquards, guipure, macramé and lace in ivory and white with highlights of metallic’s and gold Baroque to touch everything, to have the feel of dazzling Paris in midnight. A palette of deep twilight blues, from dark midnight blue through to the luminosity of sapphire and rich, inky cast Prussian blue to rich, wine-hued reds compliments the fabrics - Subtle, matt/sheen combinations added depth to this rich palette of blues, with lustrous silk faille’s and drapy matte crepes, iridescent taffetas, satin chameuse, smooth gazars, lace, ruffles and lightest of sheers, all offset with shimmering sequins.

    Darkened coppers, ores and deep shot looks, that act as precious shields. Dazzling side of the season’s big metallic message! The feeling is both decorative/artistic and basic industrial. Metallic yarns and sequins are used to enhance the effects. Metallics are not an “occasion” story anymore but part of everyday. A great deal of gold in recent seasons, but the feel of copper and bronze hues look stronger.
